A yoga guru leading tens of thousands in protesting corruption in India says he will continue his hunger strike in his northern state of Uttarakhand after being ousted from the capital.
Baba Ramdev and tens of thousands of supporters began fasting Saturday in a massive tent camp set up in New Delhi.
Police say they were forced to use tear gas to break up the camp Sunday after more than 40,000 people showed up for an event that had permission for only 5,000. Rock throwing and an ensuing stampede left dozens of demonstrators and officers injured.
Ramdev called the crackdown a "blot on democracy and a conspiracy to kill me." He vowed to continue his hunger strike Monday from the Hindu pilgrimage city of Haridwar.
