Indonesian maid hurt in escape attempt

An Indonesian was injured after she jumped from the third floor in an attempt to run away from her Saudi employer, Okaz daily reported on Sunday.

The maid opened the window of her bedroom and leaped down but she missed a parked car and landed on the ground, the paper said.

She tried to crawl away from the area after suffering injuries but was noticed by residents in Salama area in the western town of Jeddah.

“They called her employer, who came down and saw her lying on the floor with her baggage…he said that the maid had stopped working just a few days after she arrived in his house,” the paper said.

Police took the maid to hospital and are investigating the incident to determine the reason for her escape attempt.
