Flight attendants on a plane landing in Manila were shocked to find one of their passengers strangled in the plane's toilet on Wednesday, the city's international airport said.
Police are investigating to see if the death of the 36-year-old Filipino, found strangled with his own jacket, was a case of suicide, a statement from Ninoy Aquino Airport said.
Crew on the Gulf Air flight from Bahrain were checking the plane's toilet before landing and found it locked. After no one responded to their knocking, they forced it open and found the body.
The man's family said he was employed as a technician in Dubai but gave no further details, the airport said.
It was the second unusual incident involving a Gulf Air plane in the Philippines in two months.
In September, cleaners sweeping through one of the airline's jets at Ninoy Aquino Airport -- the Philippines' main international terminal -- found a newborn baby dumped in a bin in a toilet.
The baby boy was rushed to a hospital and then turned over to social welfare officers. He survived the ordeal and a Filipina who said she was sexually abused overseas has come forward and been confirmed to be his mother.
