Michelle Obama has arrived at the London Games to lead the U.S. delegation, starting her Friday schedule by having breakfast with American Olympians.

The first lady has a busy itinerary, including an event later Friday to promote healthy living with more than 1,000 children expected, then a reception hosted by Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace, followed by the opening ceremony at Olympic Stadium.

On Saturday, Mrs. Obama is scheduled to meet with Samantha Cameron, the wife of British Prime Minister David Cameron, before watching American athletes on the first full day of Olympic competition. She's scheduled to see more events before departing Sunday.

Other first ladies who have led recent US Olympic delegations include Hillary Clinton at Lillehammer in 1994 and Laura Bush at Turin in 2006.
