Pilots killed in Taiwan air force plane crash

Taiwan's air force says two pilots were killed in a crash of a T-34 training aircraft in the southern part of the island.

The Air Force Command Headquarters said in a statement late Wednesday the mangled aircraft was found in a mountainous area of Kaohsiung county.

The victims were an instructor and a trainee pilot.

A search had begun after the air force lost contact with the plane around 2pm.

A crash of another T-34 killed two crewmen in January.
