“Rice lie-detector” fails to nab thief

A group of Bangladeshi workers living in the same apartment in Abu Dhabi decided to deploy their own techniques to discover a thief among them—a rice lie detector.

So they brought a bowl of uncooked rice, sat around it and began eating. When one of them had a tooth bleeding, they grabbed him and took him to the police.

“At court, he told the judge that his tooth bled because he had a crown at the dentist…when he ate raw rice, the crown broke and his tooth bled…the court decided to acquit the man,” Emirat Alyoum said.
