French investigators have questioned one of Dominique Strauss-Kahn's daughters about an accusation that he tried to rape a French writer.

Camille Strauss-Kahn is a Columbia University graduate student and friend of writer Tristane Banon.

A judicial official said Tuesday that Camille Strauss-Kahn was questioned Monday in the French probe. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation is under way.

Banon says that Dominique Strauss-Kahn, ex-chief of the International Monetary Fund and a onetime French presidential contender, tried to wrench off her clothes and shoved his fingers in her mouth and underwear during a 2003 interview.

Strauss-Kahn is also facing charges in New York that he attempted to rape a hotel maid.

He denies wrongdoing in both cases.
