Using foul language can render a fast invalid

Fasting Muslims during Ramadan should avoid using foul language.

The fatwa was issued by the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments (GAIAE) in Abu Dhabi.

According to a Gulf News report, bad manners or swearing may invalidate their fast according to guidance issued.

Use of foul language diminishes its benefits. Fasting must make a person patient and persevering, not allowing conflicting issues to affect him regardless of how he feels inside, the Fatwa said.

These fatwas released by GAIAE is aimed at helping Muslims answer questions concerning fasting.
