Videogame-obsessed man fatally assaulted baby
A Briton who fatally assaulted his girlfriend’s 15-month old baby has been sentenced to 21 years in prison.
So involved with playing a video game Gary Alcock hit Violet Mullen so hard that she had died of ruptured internal organs.
The shocking incident that came up for hearing in a Manchester court was reported by The Daily Telegraph on Friday.
The report carried details of the violent acts of Alcock who also sadistically pinched and hit Mullen who sought some attention as he played on the video game.
The man had attacked the baby three weeks leading to the horrific death, the newspaper reported.
The baby was left with 35 injuries, all from the sadistic acts of the videogame-obsessed man who caused multiple bruises, rib fractures and brain damage in the weeks leading to the fatal assault.
Although the baby’s mother Claire Flanagan knew about the all-so-frequent abuse, the Manchester Crown Court was told that she put her own “desperate” need for a man ahead of her baby. Cleared of murder charges last week, she was jailed for five years for “causing or allowing” Violet’s death.
Prosecutors told the court that the injuries were similar to those suffered in a car crash.
