Trapped in tunnel for 6 days

UDAIPUR:  Much like the story of the Chile miners, though on a smaller scale, Narayan who was trapped in a tunnel that caved in while he was at work 40 km from Udaipur, for six days has finally been rescued.

Narayan was working as a pump operator for Costal India, reports television news channel NDTV.

He was helping dig a tunnel for the Dewas water project, meant to steam water via a special pipeline to the lakes in Udaipur city.

When the tunnel caved in on Thursday afternoon, Narayan was inside, approximately 300 ft below the ground.

A 22 metre tunnel had to be dug to bring Narayan out. Luckily for him, while both ends were blocked and there was no way out, he had 9 metres of free space inside to walk around in.

Narayan was in touch with the authorities who lowered a pipe into the tunnel. They also supplied him with food and water, dry fruits and juice.

LONDON: A puzzle game Bubble Ball has become the top free app in the Apple iPhone store this week.

Bubble Ball is a physics-based puzzle game that has been downloaded as an app by more than two million iPhone users, reveals Daily Mail.

It became the top free application on the Apple store.

But it hasn't been designed by a team of highly paid experts, it is the work of a 14-year-old boy.

Robert Nav's game even outsold the adventure game Angry Birds, the paper reported.

BOTSWANA: Three lionesses pounced on a crocodile in an extraordinary scene after the reptile tried to attack one of the pride's cubs.

The protective females instinctively leapt into action to fend off the aggressive predator, reports Daily Mail.

With organised precision, the lionesses surrounded the croc and launched a ferocious volley of blows.

During the encounter the crocodile managed to bite one of the big cats but was soon killed by the pride, revealed the paper.

The rare scenes were captured by Tony Goldman while on a safari trip to the Duba Plains, in Botswana, with his son.
