Indian actress claims ‘topless’ pics doctored

Another Indian actress has claimed she is a victim of a ‘topless’ internet picture scam.

Newbie Preeti Desai (who made news for being Abhay Deol's girlfriend) and who makes her debut in Shor In The City, is distraught to learn that topless pictures of her were circulating online.

According to Indian tabloid Mid-Day, the newbie has been claiming that the pictures are morphed and that she never posed for these pictures.

"There is a lot of rubbish on the internet. I don't think people are gullible to believe everything they read or see! I'm not going to waste time commenting on silly things like this!" she says.

Everyone from Katrina Kaif to Mallika Sherawat has claimed to be a victim of doctored pictures that see them in several states of undress.

Preeti would rather talk about her role in SITC. "I play Shalmili opposite Sendhil Ramamurthy's character Abhay (Sendhil), who is going through a bad phase after moving back to the city. She shows him the city through her eyes and the city comes alive for him."

Preeti Desai is a model and actress and was Miss Great Britain 2006. She made history by becoming the first woman of colour to ever win the title.

2000 stranded at Sydney Airport

Jetstar is working to get 2000 stranded passengers on their way after a security lapse at Sydney Airport caused a disastrous shutdown.

According to Australian media, a power failure caused a security screening checkpoint in the T2 terminal to malfunction at 3.15pm yesterday, leading to 16 passengers walking through without being screened.

Sydney Airport ordered the re-screening of the entire terminal, including many of those already on board aircraft waiting to take off.

Virgin Blue, Tiger Airways, Jetstar and QantasLink flights were all affected.

The delays and impending curfews resulted in the cancellation of 15 Jetstar flights headed to Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast.

The airline issued a statement saying it will work to get affected passengers to their intended destinations.

A spokesman for Sydney Airport said that 29 flights were cancelled during the shutdown, but that things are now back to normal.

Nutella chief dies in biking accident

(AP)

Italian chocolate tycoon Pietro Ferrero, joint chief executive of the group that owns Nutella and Ferrero Rocher, has died in a biking accident in South Africa.

Mr Ferrero, who was 47, fell from his bicycle during a regular riding session, probably because he had taken ill while on a business trip, the spokesman said.

Mr Ferrero co-ran the sweets group with his younger brother, Giovanni.

Their 85-year-old father Michele, who turned the firm into a global leader of the confectionery industry after taking over in 1957, is still the chairman.

Michele Ferrero is Italy's richest man according to the latest ranking by Forbes magazine, ahead of eyewear tycoon Leonardo Del Vecchio and Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, a billionaire television mogul turned politician.

A local pastry chef also called Pietro Ferrero began the business with a secret recipe that used nuts to cut down on the more expensive cocoa in a spread that was to be called Nutella and quickly became wildly popular.

The company also owns the Ferrero Rocher, Kinder and Tic-Tac brands.

It had an annual turnover of $9.4 billion in its 2009-2010 financial year - 4.3 per cent higher than the previous year.

It has 18 plants around the world and employs more than 21,000 people.

The firm is entirely family-owned and has stayed away from big corporate takeovers or public listings. Last year, however, it did signal interest in bidding for Britain's Cadbury, which was eventually taken over by Kraft Foods.

Britain outraged as brick attack shatters 4-yr old’s face

(AGENCY)

This is the shattered face of a four-year-old girl after a teenage lout hurled a brick at her.

Jersey-Lou Perry was knocked out, suffered a broken nose and lost two teeth in the attack at Grimsby, Lincs, according to the British media.

Her father said: "I cannot believe someone could do this to a child."

Distraught Kyle Perry, 23, added: "Who throws a house brick at an innocent little girl?

"The coward who did this must hand himself in to the police. He could have killed her."

Kyle's daughter Jersey-Lou was hit in the face when the stocky teenager hurled the brick through a window of the dad's van.

The attack happened after Kyle asked a gang of up to 15 thugs to stop kicking a football against the vehicle.

Jersey-Lou, who was strapped into a passenger seat, suffered a broken nose, lost two front teeth and was badly bruised.

Her face was cut as she was showered by glass from the smashed window. And shards were embedded in her skin.

Kyle drove Jersey-Lou straight to the town's Diana Princess of Wales hospital, where she was kept in overnight and treated for her injuries.

Cops say the brick thrower is between 16 and 19 years old, about 5ft 6in and of stocky build with dark hair.
