Saudi doctors decided to leave a bullet that struck an 18-year-old local man inside his skull to keep him alive after they found that it will not cause him any complications, a newspaper reported on Saturday.

The man had been admitted to King Khaled hospital in the northeastern town of Hafr Al Batin with a bullet inside his head after he accidentally shot himself with a hunting gun, the Arabic language daily Alikhbariya said.

Doctors operated on the man to stitch all ripped tissues and found that removal of the bullet could endanger his life.

“Images showed that the bullet settled inside his skull but will not cause any complications…the doctors performed a surgery but decided to leave the bullet where it is…the man was later discharged from hospital with the bullet in his head and doctors said he was in a good condition.”
