Civil defence with sirens rush to rescue girl’s finger

Civil defence units unleashing their sirens raced to a house in Kuwait not to put out a fire or deal with an accident but to free a girl’s finger caught inside a tight ring.

The girl’s family had phoned the civil defence and police after failing to take the ring of her finger, causing excruciating pain in her hand.

The Arabic language daily Al Watan said civil defence men used a cutter to split the ring and free the girl’s finger before taking her to hospital.
