US: Colin Firth partied hard after his Oscar win for the Best Actor but the 'King's Speech' star almost lost his 8lb golden statuette after he left it in the bathroom.
The actor who won the accolade for his performance as the stuttering King George VI in the British drama, was celebrating the win at a string of swanky champagne soirees but he almost lost the trophy during his trip to the toilet.
Luckily, the cloakroom attendant spotted it on a cistern and chased after the star to hand it back, the Mirror reported.
"Everyone was trying to buy him drinks. He may be 50 but he knows how to party and was determined to make the most of the occasion," an Oscar source said.
The British film eclipsed its big US rival 'The Social Network' to win best picture, director and original screenplay.
After the ceremony, Colin hit the Governor's Ball, a Latin-themed bash where he and wife Livia mingled with Best Actress winner Natalie Portman before heading to Vanity Fair's party.
His final venue was the private Harvey Weinstein bash

A mother whose 11-year-old son died when her car crashed was accused of killing him in her rush to get him to school.
Karen Evans, was giving Jordan and his two sisters a lift because the boy – who was autistic – had deliberately missed the bus and they were running late, a court was told, the Daily Mail said.
She drove erratically before veering off a dual carriageway in front of another car in a last-minute decision to buy petrol, it was alleged.
But she left the manoeuvre too late and lost control of her car, causing it to overturn.
Jordan, who was travelling in the back seat, suffered fatal head injuries as their Vauxhall Corsa somersaulted on to its roof, said the paper.
Evans denies causing her son’s death by careless driving – a charge which can carry up to five years’ imprisonment – and said the accident was caused by a mechanical fault.
After the accident, Evans told police a mechanical failure had caused her car to start veering across the road.
She told police the steering developed a shudder and that she attempted to slow down and turn safely into the slip road.
A police vehicle examiner found a nut on the steering wheel was loose, but this would not have affected the steering of the vehicle, Mr King said.
He added that Evans claimed she had done ‘what she thought was necessary to bring the car under control and prevent a serious collision’.

Woman kills brother's girlfriend following FB fight

A fight that started on Facebook ended in bloodshed when a 22-year-old was stabbed to death in a Brooklyn housing project after an argument over $20 she lent her boyfriend's sister for diapers, authorities said.
Kamisha Richards was attacked Monday at 10:35 p.m. near her home at the Cypress Hills Houses on Sutter Ave. in East New York, police said.
She was stabbed once in the chest, police said.
Richards was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police later caught the suspect Kayla Henriques, 18, who is the mother of an 11-month-old boy and lives in the same housing complex as the victim.
On Sunday night, Richards and Henriques had gotten into a heated war-of-words on Facebook.
In one message, Richards wrote: "I don't give a f--k. ... U know ya sister so its not just ova $20 its the principle so don't make it seem like I'm goin n 4 $20 she kno wat she did and she real f--ked up ... this aint the 1st time she did dum sh-t...F--K THESE NOSY PPL!!!!
In response, Henriques threatened Richards.
"Dnt try to expose me mama but I'm not tha type to thug it ova facebook see u wen u get frm wrk," she wrote.
Henriques was arrested this morning and has been charged with second-degree murder.
A friend of both women said Henriques always needed help.
