A Moroccan woman suspecting her Sri Lankan husband was betraying her stabbed him at their home in Saudi Arabia then fled for five minutes before coming back to say she loves him.

Neighbours who saw the woman getting mad and stabbing her husband phoned the police but the Moroccan quickly pulled his car key from his pocket and fled the house in the capital Riyadh, 'Sabq' newspaper said.

“Five minutes later, she came back and went straight to her bleeding husband and said that she was sorry and loves him,” it said.

“When police arrived and arrested her, she began shouting at them to phone the ambulance....the husband was later rushed to hospital after he lost much blood.”

Husband seeks divorce from liquor-drinking wife

An Emirati man in Ajman asked court to divorce him from his non-Arab wife on the grounds she always drinks alcohol but the wife denies his allegations and said he stopped respecting her after marriage. The man said he met his “foreign” wife 12 years ago and fell in love with her, after which they decided to marry.

Although she embraced Islam and wore traditional Arabian dress, she could not stop drinking alcohol, the husband said, according to 'Emarat Al Youm' daily.

“We had a daughter but disputes began between us due to the disparity in our traditions and lifestyle,” he told court.

“She could not stop drinking alcohol and this angered me and my family…problems began to widen and we failed to reached agreement at the family guidance centre…so I decided to divorce her.”The woman denied she had any alcohol and said her husband had taken advantage of her poverty to persuade her that her life would improve after marriage. She added that she later discovered that he does not respect her any more and that he started to cause trouble to divorce her.“He never stops reminding me of my poverty before marriage and that without him, my life would not have improved,” she told court.

'Emarat Al youm' said the judge tried to dissuade the husband from divorcing her for the sake of his daughter. But the husband replied that he would leave his daughter under her mother’s custody
