Firm offers employees unlimited vacation

It is tough getting time off at the right time at most work places. Either it clashes with someone else's holiday time or there is simply too much to be done.

However, for this particular firm in the US, going off on a holiday is no problem. The catch? - as long as the company's 98 employees meet their targets and expectations at work. From January 1, the web-based event planning company WeddingWire, based in Bethesda, Maryland, will allow employees unlimited time-off, reports The Washington Post.

Speaking to the Post, Jennifer Harding, director of human resources at WeddingWire, said: 'We just want you to do your job. If you can do that, why limit the amount of vacation you can take?'

The employees of the company currently get 19 paid days off. However, all that is about to change from next week. The leave will be approved by the manager as usual and those that receive the green signal will then be added to a department-wide calendar, said the newspaper.

Chris Chi, associate director of sales, told the US daily: 'If you’ve met your sales goal by the middle of the month, I have no place as a manager to keep you from taking the rest of the month off,' he said.
