Halloween deal: Dentist offers cash for candy

A Chicago-area dentist has put a bounty on Halloween candy - offering trick-or-treaters $1 a pound (450g) to hand over the sweet stuff.

The Naperville dentist will be collecting the candy at his office, and plans to send it on to US troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

He said a number of dentists across the US would be offering a similar deal in a buy back program after Halloween.

“They [children] don’t really need to consume all that sugar”.
