Saudi refuses Dh1.48m for car plate

A Saudi man refused to sell his single digit car plate number for SR1.5 million (Dh1.48 million), saying it is worth much more.

The man from the central province of Qateef received offers in an online auction for his vehicle’s plate which carries the number ‘6 HHH’, but refused the highest bid.

“I will sell the number only when it fetches the sum I want.

“It is worth much more than the sum paid in the auction,” he told the Arabic language daily Sada, adding that the plate was issued in 2008.
