Wife's murder is hubby's b'day gift to self

Published

LAS VEGAS: A 32-year-old man recruited a hitman to murder his wife on his own birthday. It was to be a gift for himself, reveals Daily Mail.

However, Jorge Victorino-Vazquez's plan backfired when he asked an acquaintance if he knew any hitman. The other man informed the authorities.

An undercover officer who pretended to be a hitman struck a deal with the husband. The officer asked for $2,000 to carry out the job, to be paid in two equal installments. The husband wanted the 'hitman' to break into the house in the dead of night, beat him up, kill his wife and steal some valuables from his house to make it look like a robbery.

At a follow-up meeting, Vazquez provided the undercover officer with a photograph of his wife, her name, their address and diagram of their home, according to the Huffington Post.

At no time did the husband show any remorse or reveal that he would like to halt the plans unfolding before them. The day the husband went to pay the hitman, he was arrested by the police officials for plotting his wife's murder.

The husband told the police that he wanted to get his wife out of his life permanently because she was allegedly cheating on him while she was living off him.

TV station airs adult content instead of morning news

COLORADO: A television station in the US made an unforgivable error and ran an adult video by mistake during the morning news segment. Thankfully the mistake was rectified after shocking the viewers only for a few seconds. The station replaced the programme with a religious programme - to make up for its sins? Probably.

The station took three hours to correct the snag that led to the horrible mix-up, reports news agency ANI.

Morning news viewers took to social networking sites to vent their fury and shock. Several parents were furious as their children were watching the television when the grave mistake occurred.

“My 7-year-old was watching porn instead of your news,” a major American newspaper quoted one Megan Ortiz as writing.

The channel in a statement posted on its official Facebook page said that they were working to solve the issue with the service provider.

Postcard from 1958 finally arrives, via Facebook

CHICAGO: A postcard mailed from Chicago in 1958 has finally reached its intended recipient, but not without a little help from Facebook.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that a postcard depicting Shedd Aquarium recently arrived at Scott McMurry's Virginia home, more than five decades after his mother mailed it.

The 71-year-old says he immediately recognised his mother's handwriting.

The postcard was addressed to Clairmont Lane in Decatur, Georgia, where McMurry grew up. But it recently arrived in Elizabeth Fulcher's mailbox on Clairmont Lane in South Daytona, Florida.

Fulcher posted a picture of the postcard on Facebook and her friends helped track down McMurry.

The half-century mail delay remains a mystery.

In the meantime, the aquarium has offered to give him a tour of the attraction that his late parents visited. (AP)

Baby killed brutally on first birthday by family dog

US: In a tragic incident, a family dog, a Mastiff/Rhodesian mix, bit a one-year-old baby by biting him on his head and shaking him hard. The grandmother rushed to save her grandchild even as others family members tried to get the baby away from the dog's clutches.

The incident occurred in the evening and the baby died the next day despite being airlifted to hospital for treatment, reveals Daily Mail.

The Las Vegas Sun said the dog had never been aggressive with anyone, according to the family who lives in Nevada.

The toddler had crawled over to the dog to pet him when the incident occurred. The baby's father is of the opinion that the child probably tried to grab the dog's fur to stand up when the dog reacted.
