Woman's 'hair knife' to smuggle on plane

A woman has been arrested attempting to board a plane with a knife shoved in her hair.

Video footage in an airport shows the woman standing at a security queue, quickly securing a knife in the bun of her hair, leaving the plastic handle protruding.

Her trick was quickly discovered when she went through the metal detector at Kunming Changshui International airport, southwest China.

The middle-aged woman claimed she wanted to use the knife to cut fruit while waiting to board the plane.

Airport security removed the knife and confiscated it, and it is not known whether the woman will face any consequences.
