IPhone 4 bug causes alarm to malfunction

Apple customers have expressed their frustration on Twitter after a bug in the iPhone 4 caused the alarm clock to malfunction on New Year’s Day, 9to5 Mac reported Monday.

The bug has caused one-time alarms to stop working on January 1 and 2, causing users around the world to oversleep, miss appointments and flights.

Apple spokesperson Natalie Harrison issued a statement to Macworld confirming the problem which she said would correct itself by January 3.

”We’re aware of an issue related to non-repeating alarms set for January 1 or 2,” Harrison said.

“Customers can set recurring alarms for those dates and all alarms will work properly beginning January 3.”

The bug only affects users of iOS 4 - specifically, versions 4.2.1, 4.1, and 4.0.2 of the OS, PC Magazine reported. It does not affect those who have set recurring alarms.
