Man survives with bullet in brain for 23 years

Doctors have finally discovered why a Chinese man has been suffering from epilepsy for more than 23 years after a bullet was found lodged in his brain.

The farmer says the symptoms had been getting increasingly worse so when he finally went to seek help.

The surgeon who removed the bullet says the farmer cheated death by a matter of millimeters.

"The bullet penetrated his skull and then stopped near his temple," Dr. Wang Zhiming says, "If it had moved a bit further backward and to the right, he wouldn't have survived."

The farmer couldn't quite recall when the bullet entered his skull but thinks it happened in 1988 when he thought he'd "been hit with a slingshot" and "saw a man standing on a hill."

The farmer says he woke up in a hospital and doctors found nothing wrong.
