7-hour flight to Indian capital Delhi takes 60 hours…

A seven-hour flight from Milan to New Delhi took almost 60 hours!

Air India flight 0122 was scheduled to land in New Delhi on December 24 finally flew into Delhi airport only on Christmas afternoon, reported Indian media.

The flight was diverted to Mumbai twice due to heavy fog in the capital. The 259 passengers, who were expected to fly from Milan on December 23, 2.50 am (IST), took off only on December 24, 12.30 am (IST), reported NDTV, quoting a passenger.

The flight was expected to reach New Delhi seven hours later. However, due to adverse weather conditions in the capital the flight circled over Indira Gandhi International Airport around 9 am before being diverted to Mumbai.

They landed in Mumbai at 12.50pm on Wednesday and passengers were assured they would be put on another flight to New Delhi in a few hours. However, it was only by 8 pm they boarded another flight, which took-off after a one-and-a-half hour delay at 9.30pm due to crew unavailability.

But again the flight returned to Mumbai due to adverse weather conditions. Finally, after waiting another 10 hours, passengers reached their destination at 1.30pm on December 25.
