Britain’s biggest lottery win remains unclaimed – but hoaxers pretended they had won the £113million prize.

Operator Camelot confirmed no one had yet come forward for Friday's EuroMillions jackpot, the Sun tabloid reported.

A Sunderland man yesterday sent the internet into a frenzy after posting what appeared to be the winning ticket on social networking site Facebook.

The ex-Nissan worker calling himself Peter Lowery, 26, posted a message saying: "OMG!!! I've won the euro millions jackpot. WTF! This isn't a joke!!! I can't breathe!!"

The Sun was also bombarded with dozens of calls from excited readers claiming they know the winner.

But none of them have been confirmed by Camelot. Officials have refused to say where the winning ticket was bought in the UK.

A spokeswoman said it was not unusual for the prize to go unclaimed for a few days.

She said: "Winners do not always come forward immediately after the draw."

Friday's numbers were 9, 30, 35, 39 and 46. The lucky stars were 6 and 8.

The jackpot shatters the previous record lottery win for a Brit - £84.4million claimed by an anonymous player on the EuroMillions draw in May.
