Civil defence rush to prison... for a finger

Inmates at a Saudi prison in were surprised when they saw a civil defence force rushing in as there was no fire or mutiny. They were even more surprised when they learned that the force has been called in for just a “finger in distress".

“A special force was called by the prison authorities to free an inmate’s finger from a ring after it got stuck,” Okaz newspaper said on Monday.

“The civil defence men used special tools to handle the problem….after a few minutes, they succeeded in freeing the finger peacefully.
