A 20-year-old student was puzzled how she was gaining weight, when she was conscious about her eating habits. In fact, she even picked up fights with her flat-mates about food going missing, while she was adamant that she had not eaten anything.

It was only when she woke up one morning surrounded by chocolate bar wrappers, which she realised that she may have been sleep-eating, reported ‘Metro’.

Kate Archibald went up three dress sizes from a 10 to a 16 during her first year at university.

Little did she know she had been raiding the fridge in her sleep, until she was diagnosed with Nocturnal Eating Disorder.

One night she ate four portions of spaghetti bolognese and even made toast!

The weirdest thing she’s ever eaten, she says, “is an entire wheel of cheddar cheese”.

She says her “body is conditioned to be hungry in the night and want food”, even if she doesn’t.
