Newborn weighs 6.4kgs

A newborn in Florida, US, weighs an astonishing 14.1 pounds (6.4kg).

The baby boy delivered in a natural birth on January 29 is one of the largest-ever born in the state, according to a Yahoo report.

Avery is already eating double the amount of an average-sized newborn, the reports adds.

According to US media reports, the baby’s mom learnt she was pregnant only at about 35 weeks when she consulted doctors because she was gaining weight. And initially she expected twins.

Avery remains in neonatal intensive care and is expected to join his one-year-old brother and five-year-old sister at home soon.
