Pakistani groom forgets bride's name; jailed

A Pakistani man has been arrested in the UK for attempting a sham marriage to cheat immigration laws.

Zubair Khan’s attempts fell apart when he rang up the marriage fixer to ask the name of his bride during a meeting with the registrar just before the wedding, reported ‘Telegraph’.

The registrar immediately alerted the home office investigators and the 28-year-old groom and his 33-year-old Hungarian bride Beata Szilagyi  were arrested.

Khan and Szilagyi  received 20 and 17 months jail terms respectively after they admitted conspiracy to facilitate a breach of immigration law.
