Yemeni farmer finds 2,000-year-old treasure

A Yemeni farmer stumbled across a treasure dating back to the Himyarite Kingdom more than 2,000 years ago just next to his doorstep, a newspaper reported on Saturday.

The farmer was digging his garden when the plough hit decayed pottery buried underground near his house in the southwestern town of Dalei.

The Arabic language daily Al Khabar said the farmer was shocked when he opened the pottery and found a large amount of gold and silver coins.
