Arsenal’s Gotze plan tough choice for Wenger

Arsenal’s superhero Robin Van Persie is always only one moment away from another injury lay-off.

His super form has brough the Gunners back to life and into top 4 reckoning. But, and nobody knows this better than manager Arsene Wenger, an injury to Van Persie and it could all come off again.

Gervinho is only just settling in and Theo Walcott still far from a reliable winner.

Which is why Wenger’s biggest challenge will be to bring in Borussia Dortmund’s Mario Gotze.

Gotze has the hallmarks of a classic Arsenal player – great touch, vision and a nose for goal.

However, Dortmund will not sell Gotze in January and will only listen to offers starting at £20million in the summer.

Arsenal scouts were again among clubs represented on Saturday as the 19-year-old scored twice in Dortmund’s 5-1 thrashing of Wolfsburg.

Wenger will be caught between a rock and a hard place.

Go against what he stands for and pay top dollar for a player, or stick with his strategy of buy them cheap and watch them grow.
