Is Victor Moses the answer to Chelsea’s Didier Drogba dilemma?
At first glance he certainly seems so.
He has the power and pace and direct approach that makes him a tough customer for any defence.
The problem is Chelsea are so focused on Fernando Torres in attack that Moses, as against Swansea yesterday, is left with the work of creating space and tracking the ball.
His opening goal in the 1-1 draw had a Drogba-esque touch about it, a flicked header.
If Chelsea can play Moses enough and dare to drop Torres, he might be filling the Drogba void.
That leaves the Blues still one striker short.
One option is consider a Torres swap for Atletico’s Radamel Falcao.
Falcao is red hot and Torres if anything, might benefit from a spell back in his home country of Spain.
To be goal-shy is one thing. To be goal-shy for two seasons when fronting an attack that is the defending champions of Europe is quite another.
Atletico that seem loathe to lose Falcao might be willing to consider a swap if Torres is in the mix.
Either way, Moses as the new Drogba needs another striking partner. And Torres does not seem it.
