Sensational new reports in the british press have claimed that Arsenal missed out on signing two of the game’s biggest striker.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ibrahimovic was quited as saying: “Arsene gave me the No 9 shirt with Ibrahimovic on it and I was so pleased.

“So then I waited for him to convince me that I should join. But he didn’t even try.

“He never actually made me a serious offer, it was more, ‘I want to see how good you are. Have a trial.’ I couldn’t believe it.”

Ibrahimovic went to Ajax instead.

Another report also claims that Wenger missed out on Cristiano Ronaldo who went to Manchester United.

Arsene Wenger quipped at a recent shareholders meeting that when the club are in 15th place in the Premier League, he will be gone.

Turns out, it may not be a quip after all.

The Gunners are in 8th spot and should they lose to Spurs today, their top four aspirations will be in tatters.

This means they will bleed more players.

Profit in the books, trophy-less on the field.

Worse than losing Ibra or Ronaldo will be the loss of Santo Cazorla.

The fact is the club seems destined to be a feeder club to the top four or five clubs of Europe and to spend life struggling to make the top four of the Premier League.

Players will come to Arsenal to hone their trade, learn the beautiful game under Arsene Wenger, become title winners.

Then, when put in the shop window, they will leave.

The player most at risk is Santi Cazorla.

Against Manchester United, Santi Cazorla struck a superb goal in the right corner to make sure all watching knew he was special. Even if the team he was playing is not.

Cazorla is a special signing that Wenger will look back on and day, that one did not get away.

Unless, well Arsenal finish 15th and he does.

This is why the Spurs game is a must-win.
