Liverpool's Moses hope after stars reject Anfield

The striker that is likely to spark a bidding war in the Premier League comes from a team who just managed to escape relegation.

Though Wigan did it with some style in the end, nobody expected Victor Moses to be identified as a future league star.

Well he must be a star in the making, or why else would defending Champions League winners Chelsea be wanting him.

More importantly, why would one of the league’s most successful clubs ever, Liverpool be readying to snatch Moses from under the noses of Chelsea.

In a transfer market that has the likes of Robin Van Persie getting ready for a down-to-the-wire decision on where he will play next season, it is Moses who is adding some much-needed drama to the occasion.

According to a report in The Sun, the Reds have identified Moses as their man to make up for the loss of their original target Gylfi Sigurdsson, who now seems destined to end up at Tottenham Hotspur.

Sigurdsson was new Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers’ top target, after playing under him on loan at Swansea last year.

Spurs are said to be offering Sigurdsson higher wages.

Which brings Moses in to the picture.

Wigan owner Dave Whelan refused a £4m bid from Chelsea last week, insisting he wants more.

Meanwhile, The Sun have also reported that Barcelona star Seydou Keita has rejected the chance to join Liverpool.

The Malian was quoted as saying: “I won’t be going to Anfield.”
