Kenny Dalglish must feel thrilled and fed up at the same time.

Thrilled that his Liverpool striker Luis Suarez scored all four goals as Uruguay stayed on top of South American World Cup qualifying with a 4-0 home win over Chile on Friday.

Fed up with the under-performance of his 30million pound-plus signing, Andy Carroll.

Suarez’s performance only served to heighten the lack of finishing Carroll has displayed so far in a Liverpool shirt.
Uruguay played the match without injured top striker Diego Forlan, but Liverpool's Suarez took up the slack and scored in the 42nd, 45th, 67th and 73rd.

Andy Carroll also seems to have no place in the England line-up any more.

Meanwhile, Uruguay has seven points from three matches and is solidifying its spot as the best team in South America. Uruguay won the Copa America — the continental championship — earlier this year and finished fourth in the 2010 World Cup, the best performance among South American teams.

"The important thing is the three points," Suarez said. "I scored four goals a couple of times when I was play with Ajax, but this is the first time with the national team."

Chile has three points from three matches and is struggling under Argentina-born coach Claudio Borghi, who suspended five players just days before the match, all accused of staying out late. Borghi said the five were under the influence of alcohol when they arrived for a practice session.

The five were widely reported to have been Gonzalo Jara, Arturo Vidal, Jean Beausejour, Carlos Carmona and Jorge Valdivia.
