Man United eye Ronaldo return

Cristiano Ronaldo once again playing at Old Trafford? What the Red Devils would give to rub that sight into the eyes of neighbours Manchester City.

According to UK media reports though, Ronaldo could be in line for a dramatic return to Manchester United — at Rio Ferdinand's testimonial.

Rio, 33 yesterday, will complete a decade at Old Trafford next summer and it is understood United's top brass will discuss a year-long series of events and fundraisers with the defender in January.

That will include a testimonial match — with Ronaldo high on the wanted list if they can make the dates work with Real Madrid.
