Manchester United rebel has triggered speculation of a move to a UAE club after he was spotted shopping in Dubai whilst recovering from a hamstring injury.

World Cup winning Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro and Argentine legend Diego Maradona are two of the most high-profile personalities to be associated with the UAE Pro League.

Cannavaro was captain cum player of Dubai club Al Ahli for two seasons while Maradona was coach of Al Wasl last season.

Portugal winger Nani has not featured for Manchester United since he was hauled off during the Champions League match at Braga in early November.

Daily Mail had reported earlier this month Arsenal were planning a January swoop for Nani who had been seen at Arsenal’s London training ground on the day of the Manchester derby.

He missed the Manchester derby through injury, but it is believed his relationship with Sir Alex Ferguson has been strained.

The player has privately conceded his future is elsewhere after an impasse over a contract extension, which expires in 2014.

In France he's been mentioned as part of the PSG and Jorge Mendes game, according to sportwitness.ning.com website which carried photographs of him shopping in Dubai.

A few Dubai accounts on Twitter have been saying he was spotted shopping in a mall there and is staying at the Armani Hotel, it added.

There is no set date for Nani to return but it appears he is not a part of United busy festive schedule.
