Demba Ba has gone from nobody to football stardom. As Newcastle take on Liverpool today, Brendan Rodgers will be closely watching Ba as his search for a new striker in January continues.
On evidence of Theo Walcott’s showing against Manchester United off the bench, Rodgers might want to think twice about chasing the Arsenal starlet.
Walcott wants a central role and Rodgers is ready to give it to him as his desperation for a striker continues.
However, Ba, who seems unsettled at Newcastle may be the better option for Rodgers if he can launch an audacious bid.
The Newcastle manager Alan Pardew speaking of Ba says, “He is a big leader in the dressing room and I want him here for years, to take the club forward.”
Well, should Newcastle win at Liverpool and Ba score, Pardew will have a fight on his hands to keep him.
