Arsene Wenger continues to frankly admit that Arsenal are not going to win anything.

Only, it seems like it does not matter anymore. At least not to him.

A frank assessment that: This Arsenal squad is “far away” from being genuine title contenders seems strange when weighed against comments earlier in the season that this team is the most complete he has ever coached.

Wenger counts Stoke as part of their toughest away matches played.

That should tell the Gunners something.

“At the moment, we are far away,” Wenger said in reference to Arsenal’s distance from Chelsea and Manchester United.

Then why did Wenger, the board or whoever let Robin Van Persie and Alex Song go?

Why will Wenger let Theo Walcott go – though that may be a sensible decision.

Most importantly, who will Wenger buy in January? Or will he.

Blackburn, Newcastle and England legend took a right dig at Arsenal and Wenger in his column for The Sun when he said Andre Santos taking Van Persie’s shirt during the half-time loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford, “might well be the only trophy an Arsenal player has to show for their efforts this season.”

Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri, Gael Clichy, Kolo Toure, all left for titles.

And all got them.

It may be time for Wenger to leave, so Arsenal can win a title again.
