Dubai's Cityscape: 27 projects, Dh40bn...

In the three-day event, Cityscape Global, regional and international developers unveiled 27 projects worth Dh40 billion.

The major chunk of announcements came from Dubai developers such as Meraas, Dubai Holding, Union Properties, Damac and Meydan Group.

Emirates 24|7 had reported previously on the various launches announced during Cityscape, which closed doors on Tuesday.

The first day of the exhibition saw more than 18 projects, while the rest were unveiled during the next two days.

According to Informa, the organiser of the exhibition, the number of visitors to the current session recorded a growth of about 30 per cent with plans of increasing the display space during the next session by 25 per cent.

But there are many more launches planned in coming months in Dubai. Though developers had project models on display, no announcements were made as approvals were pending.

Two large Abu Dhabi developers are going to launch a tower in Dubai Marina and mega project in Dubailand. The projects were on display, but company official declined to share details as they were awaiting approval.

Not that new developers will be entering the Dubai real estate market soon, Marwan bin Ghalita, CEO,  Real Estate Regulatory Agency (Rera), the regulatory arm of Dubai Land Department, did reveal that 567 new brokerage firms opened offices in 2014 and hence he was going to introducing new regulations to control brokerage industry.
