Jumeirah Golf Estate completion by Dec 2012

Infrastructure work, including roads and sewerage, in Jumeirah Golf Estates (JGE) development will be completed by December 2012, Emirates 24/7 can reveal.

“Nakheel has renegotiated its contract with the Ascon Group which has been told to complete the infrastructure work by December 2012,” a person close of the deal said.

He, however, refused to share details of the new contract.

In February, a company spokesperson told this website that negotiations with contractors were on going regarding the way forward, focusing on finalizing delivery programmes and completion schedules.

“The aim is to move forward with the original delivery team for the project,” she added.

Later in June, Nakheel confirmed that the Dubai government would provide funding for completion of JGE development.

“We are liaising with all Jumeirah Golf Estates customers in relation to the project’s progress,” a company statement had said.

The master development is to have over 306 homes, mostly villas.

Jumeirah Golf Estates project was originally planned by Dubai World subsidiary Leisurecorp, which was merged with Nakheel in June 2010.
