Apartment owners in Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, the tallest tower in the world, are back in the short-term rental business.

Despite the Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED) stating that individuals cannot get into short –term leasing without a commercial licence, many offers are up on community portals.

Two apartment owners are now offering furnished studios and one-bed units in Burj Khalifa on daily rental basis.

The studio is up for lease at Dh1,050 per day, while the one-bed is available on a daily rental of Dh2,800. However, there is no mention of the floor numbers.

Rents and price of units in the world’s tallest tower vary as per view and floor.

“You can save up to 80 per cent on your costs by staying with us.

“The apartments have a breath taking view of the Downtown area. Burj Khalifa is being the world's tallest tower and the centerpiece of the Gulf region’s most prestigious urban development to date,” reads one advert.

Facilities and services offered are complimentary newspapers in lobby, fitness facilities, room service (limited hours), complimentary toiletries, direct-dial phone, housekeeping, iron/ironing board (on request) and satellite television service.

Current asking rents for studios in Burj Khalifa range between Dh95,000 and Dh130,000 per annum (pa), while one-beds are available for between Dh180,000 and Dh200,000 pa.

When contacted by Emirates 24|7, the apartment owners, who posted the online adverts, refused to comment.

Burj Khalifa has 900 studio, one-, two-, three- and four- bedroom apartments, while the Armani Residences has 144 fully-furnished private apartments.

The average daily rates for a deluxe room, according to the Armani website, is Dh2,000.
