“Dubai is the meeting point of East and West and is a global destination for business and tourism.

“Given this position of the city we cannot compromise with the aesthetic view of our streets and roads,” added Khalid Mohammed Saleh, Director of Building Department of Dubai Municipality.

He added that such actions are undertaken to maintain the aesthetic beauty of the city as well as to ensure public health and safety.

Also, in many instances, such buildings were found being used by illegal persons to do their unlicensed business as well as a safe haven to enhance anti-social elements.

Building owners can contact the municipality at 800900 for further information.

Frequent and systematic inspections, timely notifications and fines have been used by the municipality to keep a check on abandoned and neglected buildings.
