16-day Eid holiday for Saudi public sector

Civil servants in Saudi Arabia will enjoy a break from work for 16 days to mark the Eid Al Fitr next month, the longest Eid holiday offered to the public sector, a local newspaper said on Tuesday.

The holiday will start on the 22nd of Ramadan and end on the eighth of Shawwal, the Muslim lunar month that follows Ramadan, Kabar daily said.

“Government employees will have a holiday for more than half a month or exactly 16 days…it’s the longest Eid holiday to be given to the public sector,” it said.
