21 beggars caught in Sharjah in one week

Sharjah Police arrested 21 people caught begging during the first week of Ramadan.

The number of beggars have decreased from that of last year, according to a police statement.

Also, the number of complaints by public reporting beggars in their areas have increased this year, it added, largely because of the awareness campaigns conducted.

Sharjah Police urged public not to have sympathy and help people who beg. Instead they may alert police.
