Saudi village denies report of curfew on women
A Saudi village has denied reports that it has imposed an indefinite curfew on its women following persistent acts of harassment against them.
Residents of Aljameera village in the southwest province of Aseer said they would sue the Saudi newspaper which reported the curfew.
“The Saudi reporter who published this story is spiteful and only wants to damage the reputation of the village and its people,” Kabar newspaper quoted a spokesman for the village as saying.
Kabar newspaper reported on Saturday that the villagers had reached an agreement to impose an indefinite curfew on women to save them from harassments and set penalties against violators.
