Chanderpaul ton gives Windies some cheer

Shivnarine Chanderpaul celebrated becoming the most capped West Indian in Tests with a century on Sunday that helped West Indies to 294 for eight - a lead of 151 with two second innings wickets remaining at lunch on the final day of the third Test.
India lead the three-Test series 1-0 after winning the first Test in Jamaica and a draw is enough for them to secure a series victory.
As so often in the latter stages of his career, Chanderpaul was forced to do a large part of his run-scoring with the tail - Fidel Edwards taking up 57 balls for his 16.
Chanderpaul’s ton was his 23rd in his 133 Tests since he made his debut in 1994 and it was a perfect example of his patient approach as he went in at the interval unbeaten on 105 from 295 deliveries.
India had earlier removed skipper Darren Sammy in controversial fashion.
The last recognised West Indies batsman before the tail was judged to have been caught by Abhinav Mukund at short leg off Harbhajan Singh but replays suggested the ball came off pad only.
