Danube Lions making their  debut in outdoor cricket tournaments for the first time, tasted victory over favourites Fly Emirates by five wickets in the Danube Ramadan T20 Cup played at Dubai International Cricket stadium.

Last years runner-up Phoenix Medicines fought well against good opposition to beat Yogi Group by five wickets.

A fine spell of left arm spin bowling by CTK Mashud who claimed four for 12 saw Danube Lions restrict Fly Emirates to 100.

Danube Lions chased down the modest target comfortably with nearly three overs to spare. Harris played an anchor role with 37.

In the second match of the night, Yogi Group put into bat were bowled out for 139 in 19,1 overs.

Phoenix were struggling at 26 for four, but a fine partnership of  66 runs  for the fifth wicket between Rohan Mustafa and Adnan Mufti  helped them come back.

Rohan remained unbeaten on 56.

The event is hosted by Dubai Sports city and  sponsored by Danube Group with Khaleej Times, Ten Cricket and Radio 4 as media partners
