If you like cricket, chances are you’re a Sachin Tendulkar fan. And know his stats – the hundred centuries, the millions of runs, etc. – on your fingertips.

But did you know that Tendulkar is retiring with a personal wealth of $160 million – that’s Dh588 million, or almost Rs1,000 crore? Now you know it.

According to a Wealth-X estimate released on Wednesday, Tendulkar, who is retiring next month, is India’s wealthiest cricket player with a personal fortune of $160 million.

Not everyone in the Indian cricket team gets to make that kind of money usually even if that’s what some of the foreign media might think. Everyone else on that list of top 5 richest Indian cricketers, which includes captain M.S. Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, Rahul Dravid and Virat Kohli, together made less than what the 40-year-old Tendulkar made alone.

“Known affectionately by his legions of fans as ‘Little Master’, Tendulkar has amassed a fortune that eclipses the combined net worth of the four other cricketers on the list, and is more than three times the net worth of the next wealthiest player, Mahendra Singh Dhoni,” the Wealth-X report states.

The 40-year-old former India captain, who stepped down from one-day internationals in December 2012, will end his career with his final and 200th test match against West Indies in late November.

Tendulkar played his final Twenty20 match in the Champions League T20 final between his Mumbai Indians team and the Rajasthan Royals side led by another former Indian skipper Rahul Dravid who made his last competitive appearance on the cricket field during that match. Dravid, 40, is estimated to be worth $20 million.

In 1992, Tendulkar  became the first overseas player to sign for Yorkshire, scoring more than 1,000 runs in the summer.

Below are India’s top five wealthiest cricket players, as per Wealth-X:
1.        Sachin Tendulkar ($160 million)
2.       Mahendra Singh Dhoni ($50 million)
3.       Yuvraj Singh ($30 million)
4.       Rahul Dravid ($20 million)
5.       Virat Kohli ($15 million)
