India pace bowlers Shantakumaran Sreesanth and Ishant Sharma have claimed two wickets each to reduce New Zealand to 72 for five at tea on the opening day of the third and final test.
Sreesanth has taken two for 12 and Sharma two for 24 after New Zealand elected to bat at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium on Saturday.
Jesse Ryder (26) and Gareth Hopkins (7) are at the crease after India’s new-ball pair ensured that injured strike bowler Zaheer Khan was not missed.
Earlier, no play was possible in the first session because of a wet outfield.
The first two tests of the three-match series ended in draws.
