India Test captain Virat Kohli has 8 million fans on Twitter

Virat Kohli's fan base is growing since becoming India Test captain with his following on Twitter reaching 8 million.

The dashing 26 year-old batsman enjoyed his first Test series win as captain after leading India to a 2-1 win over Sri Lanka.

Kohli on Sunday thanked his huge fan base after his following on Twitter grew to 8.01 million.

"8 Million Followers! Absolutely Delighted. Thank You everyone for the immense love! #Grateful," Kohli wrote on his twitter handle.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore star in the IPL who hails from Delhi, has already moved ahead of Indian cricket icons such as Sachin Tendulkar who has 7.73 millions fans on Twitter while while ODI skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has 4.52 million twitter followers.
